Community Concerts started in Wellsboro in 1947, but its history as a national organization goes back to the early 1920s. The idea was to bring the performing arts to rural America, and to raise the money in advance by selling season tickets. The organization survived the Great Depression and two world wars, and in the 1950s there were more than 1,000 community associations. The Community Concert Association continues to flourish today, bringing the magic of high quality live performance to small towns across the United States--including Wellsboro, Pennsylvania. The local concert association is directed by a board of two dozen residents of Tioga and Potter Counties who are committed to helping the Arts thrive in our area. Board members are supported by volunteers, who provide valuable assistance during concerts and our annual membership drive. Are you interested in serving as a volunteer or director?
